Pray For Aleppo?
A World Vision’s survey conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs from 8th to 12th September 2016, where a sample of over 1,000 American adults were interviewed online, with more than half considering themselves as committed Christians, indicated that only 14% prayed for the Syrian conflict and refugees, down 8% from 2015. Among committed Christians, a marginal improvement from the average American above – 19% actually prayed for refugees. Giving towards refugee work actually went up 2% to 11% in 2016. Another survey by Pew Research Center in January said about two-thirds of evangelicals and mainline denominations believe that America does not have a moral responsibility to accept Syrian refugees. In fact, a Lifeway Research in the same month reported that about 50% of Baptists and Pentecostal pastors say their churches possess a sense of fear of refugees arriving in the USA.
