The Zaatari Refugee Camp, managed by the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, is a sprawling 3.3 sq km. with 80,000 people, 7 miles inside Jordan from the Syrian border. It is one of the better-managed refugee camps, and was opened on July 28, 2012. Michael Brown’s photo essay documents the lives of children in the camp over the last 4 years.
