The avalanche of articles for or against the United States’ Supreme Court decision on gay marriage will continue to be a centrepiece in most Christian journals and websites, and our reactions to them depend on what we believe and how we express our commitments to Christ. I consider Kevin DeYoung to be levelheaded; whose views and responses are heavily dependent on what Scripture has to say about this emotive issue.
It is important that in our disagreements with the LGBT and liberal community, we do not sink to their level in expressing opinions that border on ‘hate speech’ and condemnatory rhetoric. That is not helpful, and unbecoming as followers of Christ. We ought to put our own house in order first. How we choose to express our indignation, if we have any right at all, is important to God.
