Cepheus: Trunk to Bubble.
Credit & Copyright: Rogelio Bernal Andreo. Star clusters, glowing nebulae and dark dust clouds abound in Cepheus, the royal constellation of the northern hemisphere spanning about 17 degrees. At the lower left, the large emission nebula catalogued as IC 1396, is hundreds of light-years across and about 3,000 light-years distant, containing a dark, winding, tendril-shaped feature known as the Elephant's Trunk. Near the top middle, the bright nebula is NGC 7380. At the upper right lies NGC 7635 (the Bubble Nebula) and star cluster M52. Associated with star formation, the sites are telltale markers along the region's complex of giant molecular clouds.

The Shuar are an indigenous people of Ecuador and Peru. They are members of the Jivaroan peoples, who are Amazonian tribes living at the headwaters of the Marañón River. The centre of Shuar life is an autonomous household consisting of a husband, his wives (usually two), unmarried sons, and daughters. Upon marriage, sons would leave their natal household, and sons-in-law would move in. Men hunted and wove clothes; women gardened.

Sunflowers (Tournesols) is the name of two series of still life paintings by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh. The first series, executed in Paris in 1887, depicts the flowers lying on the ground, while the second set, executed a year later in Arles, shows a bouquet of sunflowers in a vase. In the artist's mind, both sets were linked by the name of his friend Paul Gauguin, who acquired two of the Paris versions. On March 30, 1987, Japanese insurance magnate, Yasuo Goto, paid the equivalent of US $39,921,750 for van Gogh's Still Life: Vase with Fifteen Sunflowers at auction at Christie's London. The painting currently resides at Seiji Togo Yasuda Memorial Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo.
