Ocean Plastic Recycled Into Clothing

Ocean Plastic Recycled Into Clothing.

Javier Goyeneche, the President and Founder of Ecoalf introduces his company: “Ecoalf arose in 2009 from my frustration with the excessive use of the world’s natural resources and the amount of waste produced by industrialized countries. Ecoalf symbolizes what I believe the fabrics and products of the new generations should be, a new fashion/lifestyle brand that integrates breakthrough technology to create clothing and accessories made entirely from recycled materials with the same quality, design and technical properties as the best non-recycled products. That way we show that there is no need to use our world´s natural resources in a careless way.” Seaqual is a different kind of filament which is made by recycling the plastic collected at the bottom of the sea into a 100% recycled polyester filament from which sustainable fabrics of the highest quality are produced. In June this year, the Ecoalf Foundation, in conjunction with the Minister of Tourism of the Government of Thailand and the CEO of PTT Global Chemical, announced a 3-year commitment to replicate Upcycling the Oceans in Southeast Thailand, which will help to remove the waste from the oceans and islands of Phuket, Smaui, Tao, Samed and Napangha.
