World’s Most Secretive Places.

These are some of the most secretive sites kept out of the public eye, categorised as “Off Limits To Unauthorised Personnel,” apart from the large swaths of land devoted to military and secretive scientific research all over the world, and not forgetting reclusive North Korea. I had mentioned the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway in one of my earlier posts ( Also profiled are Ni’ihau Island in the Hawaiian archipelago, which remains a private island; the Royal Air Force’s electronic monitoring station, ostensibly one of the largest in the world, at Menwith Hill in England; the Vatican’s secret archives which were closed to outsiders until the late 19th century, housing eons of historic documents, a treasure trove of original religious and political texts, including private journals of popes since time immemorial. And Area 51? Well we all know about Area 51!
