Europe Failing A Generation Of Traumatised Children.
With 8 million refugee children in Europe, psychological and medical assistance to these traumatised kids will inevitably be stretched to its limits in the years to come. No doubt many would have the inherent personal resource of resilience, but the costs will probably be unquantifiable in terms of the numbers contributing to a mental health crises, until these young ones reach their late teens and young adult years. If precious little is done before then, Europeans may have to pay an inexorable price for marginalising these refugee children. There is a price for compassion to victims of war and savagery, and this responsibility is unavoidable.
