Rejecting Religious Intolerance in Southeast Asia.
The religious diversity in the Southeast Asian region, with a mix of Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Christians and a smattering of other religions, is finely balanced. Lately, nationalistic and extreme sentiments have unhinged this peaceful coexistence. This article written jointly by a Catholic Cardinal and the daughter of one of Indonesia’s former Presidents, surface some of these tensions in an effort to plead for mutual tolerance and more proactive government participation in the reduction of national discrimination.
