This tragedy was seen coming two years ago, when Shia rebels brought down the Sunni Yemeni government, and it was closely followed by a Saudi-led war on Yemen. The malnutrition as a result of the food blockade hits the children hardest; as mothers starve and milk products become scarce. Dr. Ashwaq Muharram tells her story of the outcome of this civil war among malnourished children, where young adolescents look like kids not more than two years old.
