It remains inextricably part of the Christian message, the Gospel. We cannot ignore it, as it formed the basis of our redemption – the death of our Saviour. In many nations of the third world, the price of conversion adjoins the probability of martyrdom at some point. Kathryn Greene-McCreight explores the concept, and understandably, like many of us, struggles with incorporating the actuality of martyrdom into our worldviews, reflecting our own Christian vocation and spirituality. It would certainly transform our state of being as witnesses!
