The deep ancient schism between the Sunnis and the Shias in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia are not only endangering the fragile balance of peace within populations but have also polarized group survival into extremist positions. The sad fact is that the innocent are targeted and pay with their lives, as violence spiral within communities that have co-existed for centuries.
