Facebook Manipulated 689,000 Users’ Emotions for Science
This is the latest piece from the Wall Street Journal on Facebook’s intrusive experiment on her users. When organisations are not accountable for the data under their watch, the ethics of conducting such consumer analysis becomes questionable. Particularly so when users are being manipulated unknowingly and their responses are used for data research. This trend is morally reprehensible. Under normal circumstances, a psychological experiment of this nature would require an independent ethics committee to provide permission and oversight before it is conducted.
