Suffering And Healing.
Suffering and healing can be inscrutable; whether they transform , or, in some way, show the works of God (c.f. John 9:3) isn’t always clear to us before that moment foretold in Revelation when God will wipe away all tears. While all suffering seems to have some spiritual dimension, the insights of medicine and psychiatry have their place, too. Some Christians have been called upon to endure persecution, even to martyrdom, and it is their witness which comes through most impressively. What does come through from start to finish is that Christ has been there before, in his physical agony and his cry of spiritual dereliction on the cross. And where he has been, there is the promise of new birth.
