If only it was just the shrimps! Somehow, many have got used to the idea that our food-chain is safe and the testing agencies in our respective countries does a fine job in sieving out foodstuff of questionable quality. Well, it depends how thorough they are and none, at the moment, seem to think that antibiotics in meat pose a problem. We do, however, have a growing global health hazard of antibiotic resistant diseases currently on our hands, and this tainted meat is just one area of present concern.
