A Steep Learning Curve Caring For A Loved One At Home.

This short account by Taunya English reminded me so much of our own 20 years’ journey with my 97 year-old mother. It was a steep learning curve, but with a positive attitude towards caring and giving, love will triumph, even though the returns of love were by-and-large inferred. Most elderly who need some level of caregiving would prefer to remain at home, with family around, and a familiarity in their own surrounding, which provides some sense of security resulting from their losses. That is, if the circumstances permit this manner of arrangement. Nevertheless, not discounting the toll on the caregivers, which is invariably heavy, the joy of serving is irreplaceable, and with no regrets thereafter.
