What Is Brain Fog?
Brain fog is not a medically recognized term but is a commonly used phrase that sums up feelings of confusion, forgetfulness, and lack of focus and mental clarity. Having brain fog is fairly common, but it’s not normal. Its causes generally fall into one of two main categories, either it’s lifestyle-related or a side effect of a medical condition or medication. It has become an unwanted side effect of our fast-paced, metropolis lifestyle. Today, it is unfortunate that many of the conveniently processed foods and meat we eat, and the various ways we spend our time do not support brain health. In addition, the costs we pay for an unbalanced work-life culture in terms of nutrient deficiencies, sugar overload, a lack of sleep and high amounts of stress, all deplete energy levels. The brain relies on a steady stream of vitamins and minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids, and glucose from complex carbohydrates, in addition to getting enough rest and relaxation in order to function optimally.
