They can show up months after birth, according to new study by the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention published on 22 November 2016. Researchers found that some babies who were born with normal skulls, developed microcephaly much later, with emerging symptoms that included epilepsy and motor disabilities. As a result, the Brazilian government has extended follow-up of suspect infected infants to three years.
