Why Do We Still Accept That Governments Collect And Snoop On Our Data?
Outside western Europe and the USA, we are far behind in the development of privacy laws in our respective countries, so much so that personal information can be used by a government against a private citizen if they happen to be on the wrong side of a political debate. This is more widespread than is perceived. This article gives us a perspective of what is happening in the west where mass surveillance is being bridled within specific legal constraints, and where the excuse of terrorist concerns cannot be used to target everyone irrespective.
