Inspired by family, friends and by his high school art teacher, Calvin Nicholls enrolled in the three year graphic design program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. Experiments with paper sculpture began in 1984, and before long these sculptures played a dominant role in most of his design clients’ projects and campaigns. It was a matter of time before his life-long interest in art and wildlife combined. Follett Library Resources of Chicago, commissioned him to begin a wildlife themed campaign in 1995, which continued to this day with over 75 large sculptures completed and displayed throughout their offices. Woodson Art Museum juried his piece entitled “Flight” into the acclaimed Birds in Art Show for 2013.
A few of Calvin Nicholls’ beautiful paper scultures are displayed here.
