The National Sleep Foundation updates recommendations for various age groups on how much sleep each group may require each day. We know that this critical past-time is not optional, and how unfit we can be for work if our sleep is not as smooth-sailing as it ought to be. There is not a hard and fast rule for each person, but a general guideline is helpful. A total disruption of normal sleeping pattern is never a healthy sign for our physiology, including our brain. In fact, research indicate that consistently depriving ourselves of sleep can be potentially fatal.
