Tulipmania at the Flower Dome Gardens By the Bay
The scent was palpable and distinctly hyacinth (the purple, white, and peach coloured blooms) as you enter the Flower Dome. However, it is the variety and colourful Dutch tulips, including unusual hybrids, which stand out. Over 50,000 assorted tulip bulbs were specially flown in for the show; the centrepiece arrangement depicting Dutch canal scenes, houses and windmills catches the eye. Segments of the bulbs have yet to flower on our visit last week.
